Name: Jasmyn Torn-Broers, Junior Veterinary Nurse

Where are you from/grew up? I am a proud Mansfield local! Growing up in this beautiful community, I attended St Mary’s Primary School before completing my secondary education at FCJ College in Benalla. Being able to work and give back to the community that raised me is incredibly rewarding.

Where did you study? I am currently in my third year of a Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience at La Trobe University. My studies provide me with a strong scientific foundation that I love applying every day in the clinic, and I aspire to continue my journey into Veterinary Medicine to become a registered Veterinarian.

Professional history: My journey in the veterinary industry began with a passion for hands-on care. Before joining the team at Mansfield Veterinary Clinic, I gained valuable experience working at VetLand and Lilydale Veterinary Centre. These roles helped me develop strong skills in clinical support, animal handling, and patient care in fast-paced environments.

Special interests: I have a keen interest in clinical diagnostics and supporting surgical recoveries. I find it incredibly fulfilling to assist the veterinary team during consultations and ensure our patients are comfortable and well-cared for during their stay with us.

Pets: My most recent addition is a cheeky black kitten named Simon, whom I actually adopted from right here at the clinic! Growing up, I was always surrounded by animals, including horses and family pets, which sparked my lifelong love for animal care.

Outside of work? When I’m not at the clinic or studying, you’ll likely find me in the saddle, I’ve been horse riding for over 13 years! I am also a passionate artist and enjoy spending my spare time being creative.
