Anna Burchell
Name: Anna Burchell, Practice Manager
Where are you from/grew up? Anna grew up outside of Canberra on a small family farm and business. She moved to Victoria for Uni and after years across Melbourne, Castlemaine and Gippsland moved to Tolmie in 2021.
Where did you study? Anna’s work life- until Mansfield Vet Clinic- has been with people. She started her a degree in psychology, but after several years working in homelessness services shifted to housing and social services, completing her Grad Cert in Housing Policy in in 1999.
Professional history: Anna started work in homelessness and domestic violence services, then moving to Australian Red Cross and into the world of emergency management. This led to Victorian emergency management services, then a sidestep into in human hospitals at the Royal Women’s and Mansfield. Then the opportunity to move her skills into the veterinary world opened up, which she jumped at!

Pets: Anna and her husband have two dogs Vincent and Lola, two horses Douglas and James, three sheep Graham, Polly and Holly, Hagrid the alpaca and a chook house full of “the Girls”.
Outside of work? Travel and more travel. Her family, Mountain horse rides. Food, wine and friends- on repeat!
